Woman’s Literary Club of Bound Brook to Support Embrella at October Meeting

The Woman’s Literary Club of Bound Brook will focus its next community-service project on helping children entering foster care when it meets Monday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. at Rennell Hall in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 214 Church St., Bound Brook.

The club will assemble welcome bags for Embrella, a New Jersey nonprofit that works with children and families involved in foster care and related support services. A welcome bag can provide practical items and a small measure of comfort at a disruptive moment for a child entering a new placement. Club members will learn about Embrella’s work and take part in the hands-on collection effort during the meeting.

The Woman’s Literary Club is beginning its 141st year of service. Although based in Bound Brook, its membership includes residents from across Somerset County and neighboring communities. The organization combines literary programs, civic engagement and charitable projects, giving members a regular way to connect their interests with needs in the wider community.

The Oct. 5 gathering is open to those interested in learning more about the club and its service work. Residents who would like information about the meeting or future activities may contact the Woman’s Literary Club of Bound Brook.
